What currency is used in Turkey? Are there any limits?
Turkish Lira is the current currency. There is a bank in Kalkan - Deniz Bank which is near the entrance to town. The exchange rate at time of writing is 2.42 Turkish New Lira to the £GB
- Limits: There is no limit on the amount of foreign currency that may be brought into Turkey, but not more than 55,000 worth of Turkish currency may be brought into or taken out of the country.
- Exchange slips: The exchange slips for the conversion of foreign currency into Turkish lira should be kept, since you may be required to show these when reconverting your Turkish lira back into foreign currency, and when taking souvenirs out of the country (to prove that they have been purchased with legally exchanged foreign currency).
What exactly is an 'Infinity Pool'?
The term Infinity Pool comes from the view gained at eye level. The edge of the pool literally disappears into the horizon creating an effect of the pool disappearing into infinity. We are very proud of the Infinity Pool but it should be noted there are no guard rails along the edge so children should be supervised at all times as there is a considerable drop on the other side.
Are there any hire cars available in Kalkan, do we need one?
Villa Toros is approx 15 mins walk down hill to Kalkan. We would advise you get a taxi back to the villa (unless you enjoy walking) A taxi fare to the villa is approximately £5.
Kalkan Village Rentals are ran by the same Goktepe family that provide the villas cleaning facilities. Their vehicle rental prices are very reasonable. The Goktepe Family also provide airport transfers should you require them - full details are on the 'Getting there' page on this site. Other local rental companies are also available.
